A lot of vacationers staying at or near Disney World resort will want to make the trip over to Legoland Florida, which is now open in Central Florida. What you might not know is that Legoland Florida is in Winter Haven, and is not all that close to the Disney World area. If you drove down for vacation or you have a rental car, then you are good to go.
If you didn’t there’s a Legoland Shuttle that leaves from an outlet mall near Walt Disney World. Check this post for more info: How the Legoland Shuttle works.
If you do have a car, count on the drive taking at least 45 minutes. The times you will probably be driving (morning and afternoon/evening), traffic may be heavier, so I would plan on the trip taking at least an hour. There are basically two ways to drive. For the sake of this post, I plugged the routes into Google Maps from EPCOT Center, since it is roughly in the middle of Walt Disney World
The first route takes I-4 to U.S. 27 and then south to Dundee Road, which takes you straight to Legoland’s parking lot. It is 37.2 miles and Google estimates it will take 51 minutes.

The second route would be to take U.S. 192 to U.S. 27 and proceed down to Dundee Road, which, like before takes you straight to Legoland. This route is a little longer from Epcot – clocking in at 42.6 miles and 68 minutes driving time, but if you are staying closer to 192 or to the West of Walt Disney World, it will probably be the better route.
Keep in mind that these are not the only ways to get to Legoland Florida from Walt Disney World, but I believe them to be the best because you are driving on major highways the whole way to the new theme park.
