If you’re cruising with an infant or toddler on the Disney Dream, there is childcare available so that adults can have time away from the kids for activities or relaxation. The It’s a Small World Nursery is available for children ages 3 months to 3 years. The nursery is designed after the classic Disney ride.
While Disney Dream child care for older kids is included in your cruise fare, there is an extra, hourly charge for infant and toddler care in the It’s a Small World Nursery.
There are three separate areas in the nursery:
- An acclimation zone, designed to help youngsters adjust to the nursery
- A main play area, with a 3-dimensional façade of the small world attraction that’s filled with interactive features and hidden delights
- A separate room for naps that is quiet and peaceful
Counselors in the It’s a Small World nursery can feed and diaper your children. You need to bring baby food, milk, formula and bottles according to your child’s needs, and you are asked to supply diapers, wipes and extra changes of clothes.
Activities in the nursery are unscheduled and depend on what your child is ready to do at a particular time. There are play areas, and activities do include movie times and story times. There are also kid-sized tables and chairs where toddlers can play, look at books and do crafts.
Space in the It’s a Small World nursery is limited, and it’s important to make reservations for specific times you might need it in advance. While you are on your cruise, reservations change frequently, so if there is a time that you wanted that wasn’t available, keep checking. And, if you have a change of plans, you can cancel your reservation without any penalties as long as you do it at least 12 hours in advance.
