Kitson Kids to close at Downtown DisneyKitson Kids is closing at Downtown Disney (the Anaheim, California version) on April 30. The store is part of the Kitson brand of stores which became famous for catering to celebrities on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The Downtown Disney kids store outpost opened in July 2009.

The Orange County Register reports that the decision to close the store was a mutual one between Downtown Disney and the store’s owners.

Kitson Kids sells high-end children’s merchandise. The store originally became known for its witty tees (like this $38 “Drama Queen” one). The store is having a closing sale for the rest of the month – with some merchandise discounted up to 50 percent off.

A new store – Apricot Lane – will open at Downtown Disney in Kitson Kid’s spot this summer. Apricot Lane sells designer apparel aimed at moms and their teenage daughters.

“We always look to add unique locations that provide our guests a shopping experience unlike anywhere else – Apricot Lane certainly fits that mold,” said Tony Bruno, vice president of Disneyland Resort hotels and Downtown Disney. “Our guests are going to love the fashion collection Apricot Lane has to offer.”
