Las Vegas: A theme park for adults?

In the past 24 hours, I’ve been at Walt Disney World and on the Las Vegas Strip. How many people can say that?

Last night, I had the privilege of having a late-night drink at to the Top of the World at Bay Lake Tower with blogging friends Rick, Amanda, Suzannah and Shelley. It’s a terrific space, and I hope that Disney opens it up to a wider range of resort guests soon.

Then just a few hours after our chocolate martini party broke up, I was on a plane to Las Vegas for the BlogWorld Expo convention.

It’s my first time here, and so far, I am visually overwhelmed. There is gorgeous design everywhere I look.

I thrilled a little upon catching my first glimpse of the strip, towering at the end of the LAS runway. And those stories about slot machines right there at the airport gate? True!

I’m settled in as a guest of the new Aria Hotel and Casino, and I’m having tons of fun playing with the touchpad controls for the room. I can open the curtains and turn up the thermostat without ever leaving my bed. Good thing I don’t have one of these at home.

I had my first Vegas meal at Todd English’s P.U.B., and I l.o.v.e.d. my fancy-schmancy grilled cheese with brie, tomato and bacon. The restaurant had a great selection of craft beer (more than 40 on tap), and I tried a Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA. If you can drink a pint in 7 seconds, it’s free, but this beer was too good to chug.

Any suggestions on other restaurants I should try while I’m here?

I agree Las Vegas is more for adults… Anyway, my utmost obsession is traveling. I have no big savings because of that obsession. Every year I always set a date for it and it is just fulfilling on my part to do what I love doing. Most of the time I travel alone and it turned me into an independent woman.
