SeaWorld’s Manta to open just in time for summer break

I am getting increasingly excited about the debut of SeaWorld‘s new roller coaster, Manta. It’s going to open on May 22, the Friday before Memorial Day.

The cars seat 32 people, under a flying manta ray design. Manta is visible throughout SeaWorld, and guests are already seeing test runs of the ride.

One of the most exciting parts of this new attraction for me is the massive aquarium that you’ll wind through as you wait in line for the ride.

Orlando Sentinel writer Jason Garcia talked with Manta’s designer about what it takes to put together such a massive attraction. He said the most exciting part has been seeing other Sea World guests watch the ride and try to figure out how it “flies.”

Theme Park Mom will be getting a sneak preview of the ride on May 21, the day before it opens. Look for a full report and plenty of photos and video here that evening.
